The Addis Ababa City Administration Land Holding Registration and Information Agency successfully completed a capacity-building training program it had been providing to 215 newly recruited employees and graduated them at the Ethiopian Public Service University.

During the event, the Agency’s Director General, Mr. Tesfaye Tilahun, who delivered the opening remarks, stated that the Agency is undergoing a new transformation in order to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to it. He added that efforts are underway, at both national and city levels, to register and inventory land information and to realize a comprehensive cadastral system through the use of modern technology.

Mr. Melaku Tamru, Deputy Head of the Addis Ababa City Administration Public Service and Human Resource Development Bureau, reminded the graduates who have joined the Agency that they are expected to demonstrate institutional development by serving the public with integrity, ethical conduct, and loyalty, and by applying new ways of thinking.

The training primarily covered the legal framework, ethics and technical skills, coordinated operational practices, the duties and responsibilities of civil servants, and institutional work culture, according to the training coordinator, Mr. Bahru Girma.

Dr. Dadi Wedajo, Deputy Head of the Mayor’s Office and Head of the Mayor’s Supervised Institutions Office, stated that as the city continues its efforts to become a model of prosperity while receiving various international recognitions, the graduates must carry out the high level of responsibility placed upon them with competence and ethical discipline in order to ensure public satisfaction.

Following the presentation of various educational and entertaining programs at the ceremony, certificates were awarded to the coordinators and trainers. The trainees also affirmed, through an oath, their readiness to provide fair and equitable public service.
