“The Agency established a Consultative Council to improve its service delivery.”

the Addis Ababa City Administration Landholding Registration and Information Agency established a Consultative Council composed of representatives from various bodies. The purpose is to improve the 22 types of services delivered both at the agency’s headquarters and its eleven branch offices, and to ensure that services provided to the public are fair, efficient, and effective.

The Council’s establishment and implementation manual was presented by W/ro Meskerem Masresha, Director of the Agency’s Standardization, Service Delivery Monitoring, and Support Directorate.

In her presentation, W/ro Meskerem highlighted the importance and role of the Consultative Council, which represents service users through members drawn from different sections of society. Following this, an election for the Council’s executive members was held.

Through this election, W/ro Yetatqu Dersseh was chosen as the Chief Coordinator of the Consultative Council, and W/ro Roman Tesfaye was elected as the Secretary. The Council will be accountable to the City Administration and the Public Service & Human Resource Development Bureau, while the Agency’s Director General, Ato Tesfaye Tilahun, will serve as the Deputy Coordinator.

The Consultative Council (Service Users’ Council) consists of 45 representatives from different bodies. It was announced that the Council will meet quarterly to evaluate the Agency’s service delivery.

Speaking at the event, Ato Tesfaye Tilahun, Director General of the Agency, noted that the establishment of the Consultative Council will help make the Agency’s service delivery faster and more effective.

Council members and executives also expressed their commitment to work alongside the Agency in improving service delivery and raising customer satisfaction to a higher standard.

In connection with this, Ato Girma Aredo, the Agency’s Good Governance Representative, presented a plan aimed at addressing service delivery gaps and ensuring good governance. He reported that in the 2017 budget year, more than 468 complaints and grievances were submitted and that all of them had been resolved.

He further explained that the establishment of the Consultative Council will enable complaints and grievances related to service delivery to be addressed properly in collaboration with the Agency.
