The Addis Ababa City Administration's Land Registry and Information Agency stated that in the past 6 months of the 2017 budget year, it has collected 3 billion 455 million 994 thousand 827 birr, exceeding 97 cents.
According to the Director of the Agency for Land Registry, Information, and Services, Mr. Hassen Moosa, the agency has collected a total of 4 billion 863 million 229 thousand 194 birr through the provision of services, including land rights and cadastral services, over the past 6 months across 11 offices.
The agency has been informed that the capital gains tax, which is levied on the services provided, is a significant contributor to the agency's revenue. Mr. Hassen emphasized that the agency's service revenue plan has been adversely affected due to the transfer of capital gains tax to revenues.
Mr. Hassen noted that the agency's service delivery efficiency has reached 83.9% due to efforts to modernize its operations technologically.
He also mentioned that a good administration is being established by addressing inefficiencies and poor management practices within the organization.
