**Announcement for the 8th Time Regarding Land Registration and Verification
The main director of the agency, Mr. Gifa Wosen Desisa, announced today to journalists that the agency has prepared to carry out land registration and verification work starting from Tahsas 10/4/2017 E.C. Since the agency began land registration in 2007 E.C. until 2016 E.C., it has conducted seven rounds of land verification work on 337 plots.
Based on this, for the final time in the current budget year, the agency will verify and register 136 unregistered plots located within the Addis Ababa City Administration for the 8th round. Today, it was announced that the verification work will commence.
The verification work will focus on six selected sub-cities, which include:
- **Kirkos Sub-City:** 25 plots
- **Kolfe Keranio Sub-City:** 19 plots
- **Lideta Sub-City:** 22 plots
- **Bole Sub-City:** 15 plots
- **Nifas Silk-Lafto Sub-City:** 22 plots
- **Akaki Kaliti Sub-City:** 11 plots
In total, 136 plots (out of 467 residential areas) will undergo verification work using a systematic approach, and the work is expected to last five consecutive months, concluding by May 15, 2017 E.C. The full cost will be covered by the government.
The agency emphasized that no legal title will be issued for unregistered plots starting from Tahsas 20/2017 E.C. during a period of 10 working days for the sub-city offices, unless the necessary documents are provided for verification.
Since the agency began land registration in 2007, it has conducted verification work on 337 plots over seven rounds, covering 219,722 square meters of land, 173,136 square meters for multi-family housing, and 400,084 square meters of rights. This accounts for 54% of the total land area of Addis Ababa.
